Museums Support Officer

Mackay Regional Council are currently recruiting for a Museums Support Officer to join our dynamic Community Lifestyle Team, on a full-time basis.  

 

About the role:

The role of the Museums Support Officer is to provide support to the Museums Coordinator with administration, visitor services, volunteer management and event coordination to ensure effective service delivery to Greenmount Homestead and Council's three other museums. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to exhibition development, collection management and public programming.

 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have demonstrated practical experience in the preparation of programs and events to engage a diverse range of audiences
  • Demonstrated experience using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Well-developed experience and understanding of social media platforms
  • Working with Children blue card or the ability to obtain one
  • Current QLD 'C' class driver's licence
  • Sound level of interpersonal skills powered with a level of professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a small team environment

 

In return for your valued contribution you will be rewarded with;

  • Annual base salary range from $60,499 - $67,264
  • Up to 9.5% superannuation
  • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave 17.5% leave loading
  • Flexible work arrangements with an RDO
  • May be eligible for salary sacrificing options
