User Experience Specialist

About the Role 

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the role will be responsible for delivering the UX strategy, solving complex design problems and creating a memorable digital experience for the FGF business and other associated entities as required.  

The role will require research, interface design and project implementation across several different work streams of varying length and complexity. The role will bring specialist expertise to the Marketing team that will support and continue to innovate our platform and product strategy roadmap. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work on designs and drive product features from concept through to final implementation, working with product managers to prioritise and develop within time commitments; 

  • Design and deliver visual mock-ups, layouts, and specifications for the Group websites website; 

  • Collaborate with the project team, including internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop the UI/UX requirements; 

  • Manage and deliver UX design artefacts to facilitate ideal outcomes for all business requirements including storyboards, personas, user journeys, wireframes, interaction designs, design patterns, prototypes and visual design for web, mobile, email and brochure media; 

  • Develop a range of UX deliverables, including task flows, information architecture (IA) diagrams, design studies, wireframes, and high-fidelity interface mock-ups; 

  • Constantly re-evaluate and iterate on product interfaces based on feedback, future objectives and measured performance bottlenecks; 

  • Contribute to digital design specifications and style guides and produce new sections where necessary; 

  • Plan and manage quantitative and qualitative user research projects; 

  • Lead the facilitation of in-person qualitative UX research including focus groups and one-on-one sessions;  

  • Perform on site research of current user behaviour to make a positive change to the user experience and leverage user research data in the creation of UX deliverables. 

Candidate Requirements  

Essential 

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including experience liaising and negotiating with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation and group on UI/UX design requirements and experience aligning stakeholder design needs to web strategy, best practice and brand identity; 

  • Highly developed project management and organisational skills as well as the ability to manage competing stakeholder expectations and multiple projects to deliver on stakeholder design needs; 

  • Tertiary qualification in design, marketing, human behaviour, or equivalent industry experience; 

  •  2+ years of experience in UI/Product/UX design in an agile environment or similar; 

  •  A goal orientated approach with a consistent track record of achieving goals under pressure; 

  • The ability to work autonomously and to plan and implement their responsibilities; 

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities; 

  • The ability to adapt to and manage a continuous change environment; 

  • An awareness of Risk Management and Compliance principles.
