Our client is based in Tynong (VIC), 45mins from Melbourne CBD and 15 mins from Pakenham, SE Melbourne.

This is a newly created role which offers the ability to impart knowledge, create new systems and processes, and take the lead on existing projects under the direction of the general manager.  People and culture are at the forefront of 9 Mile – they have long standing employees, and wish to continue to create a culture where people are happy, engaged and love coming to work.

  • Act as a support function to the business unit managers advising on all matters relating to human resources
  • Deliver and report on compliance aspect for HR; employee relations, workers compensation, remuneration and benefits and HR reporting
  • Assist in the delivery of key HR projects
  • Manage outsourced payroll through employment hero

The Ideal Person:

To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, management or similar
  • Relevant industry memberships and associations
  • Previous food manufacturing experience would be ideal but not essential
  • Proven experience in a generalised HR role, at either the HR Coordinator or HR Advisor level
  • Good working knowledge of interpreting Awards / Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience using and reporting from HRIS systems; employee hero would be a bonus
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder engagement
  • The ability to motivate and engage a diverse workforce
  • Liaise on all matters in relation to recruitment, selection and onboarding

Our ideal candidate will be looking for a role where they can grow and develop and move into a more senior role in the coming years.  Working in a diverse food manufacturing environment, we want you to be comfortable stepping into some steel caps, chatting to staff out in production, whilst displaying a high level of professional and confidentiality.

In return, you will be welcomed by an employer who truly values their employees, offers autonomy, and has a number of exciting projects in the works.
