Senior Sous Chef - Daniel San

Daniel San is a neon-drenched, Okinawa inspired, Japanese Rock n Roll bar located directly opposite iconic Manly Beach. The first chow-down eatery of its kind, celebrating the quirky and colourful aspects of Japanese culture with a whole lot of rock royalty attitude, the venue is a sensory delight for all ages.

Daniel San is a new concept Japanese venue in Manly and we are looking for an experienced chef to join the team.

You will be responsible for a very high standard of Sushi, Sashimi and Japanese inspired cuisine in a very high volume venue in Manly. You will be working under a Head Chef with 10 years experience in Japanese cuisine. This is a kitchen that thrives on constant creativity and every chef will be encouraged to show what he/ she can do.

The Role; 

  • Professional Japanese kitchen.
  • Responsible for stock control.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy service times.
  • Take responsibility and priorities the training and development of staff.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Track wages and adapt accordingly.
  • Working knowledge of authentic Japanese cuisine while maintaining food consistency
  • Understanding application of food safety and HACCP systems
