Teacher of Humanities

Braemar College is an independent, co-educational, ecumenical school for students in Years 5 to 12. The College has two campuses both of which are located near Woodend, less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

The successful candidate will experience working in one of the most unique educational settings, and teach committed and enthusiastic students.

Position:

Braemar College is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities with a passion for education and senior Politics and History including to VCE level. 

We continue to embed a culture of personalised learning to achieve high standards of learning and teaching for all students.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain high standards of learning and teaching, assessment and reporting that is relevant, collaborative and future-focused.
  • Use data to inform differentiated practice.
  • Plan collaboratively with teaching teams.
  • Deliver and promote student wellbeing within the College.

About You:

It is expected that you will:

  • Have a tertiary teaching qualification that enables you to teach Politics and History including VCE.
  • Be enthusiastic about the education of young people.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Australian Curriculum Framework.
  • Be a highly skilled and dedicated teacher who contributes to the Learning Area.
  • Display sound knowledge of teaching pedagogies and practices with a focus on developing students' knowledge and skills.
  • Have a proven ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
  • Hold current Teacher registration with VIT.

In addition, the preferred applicant will have an understanding of and commitment to, the ethos of Independent schooling and a willingness to contribute to College events.
