PORT LOGISTICS CUSTOMER SERVICE COORDINATOR

SCT Logistics is a rapidly growing company, which prides itself on being a leader in the logistics field.  Our objective is to achieve service excellence through open communication and a "can do" approach to business.

We are currently seeking a Port Logistics Customer Service Coordinator for our Ports Logistics team at our Altona site.  The primary responsibility is to maintain a professional and transparent approach to internal and external customers and the management of International containers.

The role is responsible for the administration of International container movements, working closely with subcontractors and development of seamless standard operating procedures and systems.  To communicate and work cohesively with internal & external stakeholders, finalise reporting, problem solving and completing KPI’s.

Specific duties include: -  

  • Coordination of international containers from Port to client location
  • Complete daily, weekly & monthly container reporting
  • Coordination of producing purchase orders and invoicing
  • Ability to manage subcontractors’ performance and compliance
  • Ability to investigate and resolve claims in a timely manner
  • Timely management of day to day issues
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and SCT procedures and policies are adhered to
  • Participate in risk assessments and inspections (Internally & Externally) when required
  • Participate in internal and external meetings relating to business operations
  • Ensure containers are delivered as per the SCT service standards
  • Ability to escalate issues relating to service delivery & operational performance
  • Ensure that tasks are completed to meet the customer’s requirements and are conducted in a timely and safe manner
  • Maintain open lines of communication at all levels internally and externally

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: -

  • Knowledge of operational planning and scheduling
  • Good understanding and experience of the Port logistics operations and systems
  • Preferred understanding of rail loading procedures
  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to adapt to business changes
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels
  • Has excellent analytical and business acumen
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team
  • Self-motivated and takes pride and accountability in role
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred SAP experience
