Asset Manager

The Role:

Do you want to be part of a leading organisation, which dates back 300 years in the shipbuilding industry?

In 2016, Navantia Australia was awarded the AOR sustainment contract to build HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart, which is due to commence service with the Royal Australian Navy from mid-2020 and will remain in service for a minimum of 25 years. Navantia Australia will be responsible for the sustainment of both ships for their first five years of operation along with the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and form the AOR System Program Office (AORSPO). 

Navantia Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asset Manager to join the AOR team. You will be responsible for the Asset Management System for the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) Vessels Sustainment Program in accordance with the Contract with the Commonwealth of Australia. The role leads and coordinates the efficient and timely delivery of asset management services that supports the objectives and mission requirements whilst managing risk, safety, reliability, configuration and costs.

 

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the provision of the Asset Management Services for the AOR Support Program in accordance with industry good practice, including, but not limited to the ISO standard for an Asset Management System (ISO 55001)
  • Lead the development, implementation and review of the Asset Management Plan (AMP) for the AOR Support Program
  • Lead the development, implementation and review of all associated plans, processes, procedures, instructions and data supporting the  Asset Management Plan (AMP)
  • Lead the Asset Management Plan (AMP) implementation to optimise levels of service, performance and reliability
  • Ensure that all Asset Management Services provided by Subcontractors are provided in accordance with the Approved Asset Management Plan (AMP)
  • Develop the Asset Management Information System
  • Achieve and maintain the Asset Management System (ISO 55001) certification for the AOR Program Office and assist in developing the application for ISO 55000 by Navantia
  • Participate in the development and delivery of internal asset management training
  • Review Life Cycle Cost (LCC) artefacts and build a case (financial, business, risk) for optimisation of the AOR sustainment program
  • Manage all assets by ensuring Life Cycle Cost (LCC), risk, performance, reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement systems are applied
  • Comply with Company values, policies, standards and procedures covering elements such as quality, safety and the environment

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or related technical discipline
  • To be Certified by a recognized Asset Management Certification body
  • Relevant experience preferably gained in the Marine or Defence Industry
  • Extensive experience in a senior management position striving for a high performing team culture and leading a step change in Asset and Maintenance Management
  • Extensive practical and relevant experience in asset management and the ISO 55000 asset management standards including policy, strategy and procedure development and implementation and managing Life Cycle Costs, Reliability and Risk
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of asset management information systems and processes to optimise asset and maintenance management
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients
  • Must be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance to Baseline level
  • Occasional interstate and overseas travel may be required
