Wound Innovations is supporting the new standards for healthy skin and wound management by providing   specialist wound consultations and education into aged care and the community across Australia.

Due to company growth we are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse with wound experience. The successful candidate must be highly competent, a clinical and critical thinker and possess skills to efficiently coordinate and deliver patient care and education in collaboration with other health professionals. 

The services provided by the successful applicant include:

  • Provide and develop expert clinical care to residents and patients
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and evaluating protocols, pathways, procedures, standards and systems of work
  • Provision of support, direction and education to clients/patients, registered and enrolled nurses and carers

Main Activities:

  • Assess, plan and implement wound care in collaboration with patients, other health professionals, and the Wound Innovations team to achieve goals and improved wound outcomes
  • Participate in data collection and implementation of research projects
  • Coordinate the delivery of patient care and be accountable for the standard of care
  • Demonstrate clinical competence and perform advanced clinical skills and knowledge when planning patient care
  • Demonstrate evidence of clinical problem solving and decision making at an advanced level
  • Provide education and clinical support as part of research projects
  • Participate in and support translation of research project outcomes with collaborative partners including Aged Care providers
  • Participate in telehealth consultations
  • Advise on and implement where necessary infection control practice as a clinical resource
  • Uphold standards of nursing practice and professional behaviour, and adhere to the established guidelines and procedures set out by the Company
  • Provide support and deliver orientation for any new nursing staff
  • Deliver wound management education in collaboration with other Wound Innovations staff
  • Maintain effective interpersonal and communication skills with other members of the team, patients and their carers
  • The position will include a requirement to travel interstate and locally

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Manual Handling Certificate
  • Current Australian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle
  • Proficiency in using computer software applications including advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and patient management databases
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Hold postgraduate qualifications in the specialty area or commence post graduate qualifications in the specialty area within 18 months of the appointment to Clinical Nurse (for example stomal therapy course, lymphoedema course or a wound care course with a minimum educational outcome such as a graduate certificate or accredited lymphoedema course)
