The Little Sisters of the Poor St Joseph's home have a part time permanent opportunity available for an experienced Lifestyle Assistant within our Aged care facility in Northcote.

Qualifications:

Essential : Cert III in Aged Care Work (CHC30212)

Current Senior First Aid Certificate (HLTFA311A)

Current Driver’s License - Class C – Car

Desirable: Cert IV in Aged Care Work (CHC40108) or equivalent

Cert IV in Leisure and Health (CHC40608) or equivalent

Current Driver’s License – Class LR: Light Rigid

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:  Experience of working in an aged care setting is desirable

Knowledge: Knowledge of the aged care sector

Understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people and understanding of the principles of continuous quality improvement

Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work confidentially in a sensitive environment

Ability to plan work and establish appropriate priorities

Basic problem solving skills

Ability to write, read and interpret workplace related documents

Ability to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of leisure and recreational activities suitable for older people, especially for those with dementia and related conditions.
