Job Title: Administrative Support Officer – Director Support
Job Grade / Classification: Clerk Grade 3/4
Employment Type: Temporary, Full-Time
Duration: 16 – 18 months (possibility of ongoing)
Location: Hurstville, relocating to Parramatta early 2020

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join National Parks and Wildlife service in a fast-paced role that provides administrative assistance to a busy Branch Director as part of a support team. Amongst other administrative tasks, a primary function of the role is coordinating a high-volume mailbox for both internally and externally facing correspondence and approval workflows. The role also provides meeting and event support; including assisting and coordinating meetings, preparing and distributing agendas, papers, presentation material, transport, accommodation, catering and minute taking. In addition, this role needs to be available during business hours to suit the requirements of the business.

Essential requirements:
• Experience in administration including experience in the use of computer based systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and records management systems.
• Knowledge of financial and human resource management procedures, policies and practices, and contract administration.

To be successful in the role, ideally you will have:
Prior experience managing a centralised mailbox, having worked in a similar fast-paced collaborative, support-team environment. Your attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to juggle priorities will be highly valued.

Agency overview
The Planning, Industry and Environment Cluster brings together the functions from the former Planning & Environment and Industry Clusters.

The new Cluster will drive for greater levels of integration and efficiency across key areas such as long term planning, precincts, housing, property, infrastructure priorities, open space, the environment, our natural resources – land, water, mining – energy, and growing our industries. In particular, there will be a redoubling of emphasis on regional NSW.

National Parks and Wildlife Service manages, conserves and cares for land in national parks and reserves. NPWS links customer, conservation and cultural outcomes in a sustainable way by building participation in the management and use of parks.
