Our client works alongside people of all ages in local communities in Victoria. They are currently seeking a family services social worker to support families who are experiencing difficulties that impact on parenting and family life.

To be successful in this role your must have;

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience within a family services role implementing plans and making sharp assessments plans to meet family and client needs
  • Experience working with those impacted by family violence, substance abuse, physical and mental health issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge in risk assessment of children, young people and families and planning interventions that address risk and promote self determination
  • Understanding the legislative requirements of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and the Best Interests Framework
  • The ability to plan and coordinate case work in line with case plans objectives and timeframes
  • The ability to liaise and negotiate with DHHS Child Protection in relation to addressing protective concerns for children
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with a capacity to communicate effectively and in a timely manner
  • High level of planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Strong administrative skills, including data management and program reporting
  • A valid Driver’s Licence and Employment Working with Children’s Check
  • Willing to undergo a National Police Check

 

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing an outreach service to children, young people and families with complex needs that is flexible and creative
  • Coordinate and implement tailored assessment and short-term intervention designed to enhance family functioning and client outcomes
  • On going analysis of the child’s safety and wellbeing
  • Support families through the provision of responsive group work
