ABOUT THE ROLE:

Mumbrella is looking for an innovative, highly motivated and autonomous editor to oversee its branded events and content. 

In this diverse role, the successful candidate will plan, promote and host event content; as well as create branded editorial including written features, podcasts and webinars. 

Reporting to the Sales Director, you’ll work alongside the editorial, event, commercial and marketing teams, as well as pitching ideas to potential clients. We’re looking for an editorial brain mixed with commercial acumen. 

This is an opportunity to work with a highly respected, fast-moving publisher to help deliver the content for a key part of the business. Your expertise and insights will be highly valued as we continue to evolve in an ever-changing publishing world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Writing and commissioning articles, pictures, video, audio and managing digital assets

  • Being responsible for final output of paid/sponsored content and native advertising including copy-editing and writing captions, headlines and standfirsts

  • Coaching, mentoring and developing a Bespoke Journalist 

  • Curating content for Bespoke client events and assisting with client-presented content at Mumbrella events

  • Achieve set financial targets for Bespoke sales

  • Work collaboratively to achieve group financial targets for Mumbrella’s website, eNews, EDM, event and bespoke sales as set out by the Sales Director each quarter

  • Ensure consistency of achieving targets through the development of ongoing pipeline to achieve sales targets 

  • Identify customer needs and when appropriate provision solutions that build customer loyalty and revenue 

  • Working proactively with the sales team to generate and deliver paid/sponsored content opportunities

  • Generating creative ideas and solutions for bespoke for clients in relation to pitches and proposals 

  • Develop and in-depth understanding of the industry, the trends & market forces and present this knowledge when required to clients and as part of internal business reviews & sales meetings

  • Staying on top of emerging commercial trends and opportunities in paid content 

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the industry, the trends, the market forces with a view to identifying new sales opportunities

  • Attend industry-related conferences and networking events to generate new relationships, strengthen existing relations and represent Mumbrella 

  • Create a pipeline of face2face meetings with external clients 

  • Build commercially driven partnerships based on an understanding of client objectives that are solutions focused and strategic with a long term outlook 

  • Generate commercial interest for Mumbrella market initiatives spanning new events, bespoke and trade initiatives 

  • Manage production schedules and ensure deadlines are hit 

  • Cultivating and managing editorial and commercial relationships 

  • Complete and action all business-driven reporting

  • Superior writing skills

  • Knowledge of Australia’s media and marketing industry would be desirable but not essential
