The Company
 
Our client is a reputable property developer who is continuing to experience growth across their Australian business. They're seeking an Accounting Manager to involve in general accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
 
The Role
 
We are looking to appoint an accounting/finance manager with experience within the Real Estate/ Property Development industry to further their career in a fast-growing environment where there will be opportunities to make their mark within the Accounting Department as well as part of the business' growth plans. The position will oversee the Accounts Officers and work closely with the CEO along with the management team to provide accurate financial reporting and also performing a multi-functional role to manage the varied accounting functions within the department.
 
These accounting functions include:
  • Preparation of group budgets and forecasts
  • Delivery of timely and accurate monthly consolidated results and accompanying analysis including month end reconciliation, Balance Sheet, P&L, Fixed Asset Register Maintenance and Cashflow Management
  • Statutory tax compliance, including BAS, PAYG, FBT, Income Tax and Payroll Tax calculations and lodgment
  • Preparation of monthly budget/forecast
  • Delivery of accurate annual statutory reports to management team
  • Assist with financial planning such as 5-year performance reporting
  • Delivery of quarterly and accurate financial statements, income tax model including proactively managing the audit/legal process
  • Month end close for operations
  • Manage the annual trust account audits ensuring information is provided on time
  • Oversee and provide backup to payroll processing
  • Keep abreast of new accounting standards & implementation ad-hoc transactional data analysis to support business growth
  • Liaison with external financial consultants, auditors and bankers
 
 
The Successful Candidate should have
  • CA/CPA qualified with strong Financial Accounting background
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role within Property Industry or related industry
  • Experience with Real Estate Trust Accounting and understanding of legislative requirements will be highly regarded
  • Experience with accounting system; XERO and MYOB 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Bilingual -English/Mandarin skill is desirable
