Accounts Payable - Accounts Assistant

  • 4 days initially - moving to 5 days
  • Close to Mordialloc
  • $60-65K + Super (Neg on experience)

The Company:

Our client is a premium supplier of printed packaging and merchandise for many well-known brands in the retail space. A successful company operating for over 30 years, the company has a family feel to it where staff are well supported and stay a long time!

The Role:

Due to growth and internal promotions, they are now seeking an Accounts Payable/Accounts Assistant to join their small finance team of 4 in their offices located in bayside Melbourne. This role is suited to either a degree qualified Accountant with approximately 2 years post grad experience, or someone with 2+ years’ experience almost completed their degree or working towards it. This role will commence in an Accounts Payable role, training up in the Accounts Assistant role, picking up new duties over time as directed by the Finance Manager.

Some of the initial key responsibilities will include:

  • Matching of Invoices to purchase orders and delivery dockets
  • Data entry of invoices into the finance system
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reconciling of creditor accounts
  • Creating and maintaining supplier records
  • Creditor payment runs

Other responsibilities you will take on over time with training (if required) include:

  • Assistance with preparation of monthly management reports
  • Analysing freight invoices
  • Preparation of annual GL and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Back up duties to Accounts Receivable
  • Month end journals
  • BAS preparation
  • Bank reconciliations

To be successful in this role you will be/have:

  • Degree qualified or working towards
  • High attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and hardworking
  • Problem solver with an analytical mind
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel

This is a fantastic opportunity to commence in Accounts Payable but take on additional duties over time, working closely with the Finance Manager. A salary of $60-65K + Super is on offer to the right candidate, negotiable on experience. This role will commence 4 days a week with the view to a full-time role after a year potentially.
