Integration Aide

  • Keysborough Campus
  • Part-time 0.6 FTE

About this role:      

The primary role of an Integration Aide is to support the integration of specific student(s), by direct support, or assisting the class teacher in the overall integration process. Students will range from all year level in Primary and Secondary.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Implement activities/ Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that will support the individual needs of the students.
  • Work cooperatively with teachers, students, and Special Needs Coordinator.
  • Develop an understanding of the specific problems and special programs operating for a student.
  • Assist the Special Needs Coordinator in helping the student develop social interaction with their peers and at all times work to promote the self-esteem of the student.
  • Attendance at morning briefing and assembly
  • Work with individual and/ or small groups of students.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ideally, the Integration Aide will hold an Integration Aide Certificate of Education. 
  • An understanding of child and/ or adolescent development. 
  • Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. 
  • Discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Foundation level analytical and report writing skills. 
  • Valid Working With Children Check.

             **Position will commence 2020**
