Accounts Payable Officer

We currently have an exciting opening for an Accounts Payable Officer to join a leading property and construction organisation, who have operations across Australia. This opportunity also offers the benefit of working in a close team-based finance and HR culture, which is very fast-paced and fun environment. This position is located within close proximity to the Melbourne CBD and can be accessed easily by all forms of public transport.

Client Details

Our client is a big player in the building and construction environment and offer a full range of building and construction solutions to organisation, families and investors. They are currently working on construction sites in 13 sites across Australia, including 8 in regional areas. This position is one that will have you working as an Accounts Payable Officer at their St. Kilda Road location, where the workplace is very dynamic and enjoyable. This position will be a permanent role after a probational period of 1-2 months.

Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your role will include but will not be limited to:

  • End to end accounts payable daily (High Volume)
  • Reconciliation of all relevant accounts
  • Weekly and urgent payment runs
  • Generation and preparation of month-end reports
  • Paying invoices within strict credit terms
  • Dealing with clients regarding problems or queries
  • Liaising with various functions within the organisation

Profile

The successful applicant would ideally have previous experience working in an end-to-end Accounts role, experience in a high-volume environment is required. Being able to thrive under pressure and cope in a fast environment is crucial in this position. To be successful, you will also need professionally phone manner and can deal with supplier problems quickly. A high attention to detail would also be preferred. Our client uses their own modified in-house software, so being a quick learner is essential.
