Catering Assistant/ Cook

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 1,100 personnel across various operations nationally.
 

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Assistant/ Cook to join the kitchen teams at our client's aged care facilities located in Shell Cove. 

This is a permanent part-time role with shifts available from Monday to Sunday; 20 - 30 hours per week with potential for more hours depending on the applicants availability. 

A detailed roster will be discussed with the successful applicant. 
 

Skills and experience

  • 1+ year's experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded.
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Collaboration and team work 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines
  • Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
  • The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen.
  • Must have reliable transport.
     

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving meals to residents
  • Clearing dining tables 
  • Running of the servery
  • Cleaning and washing up
  • Helping chefs with basic kitchen operations 
  • Preparation of sandwiches and salads
  • Preparation of texture modified diets, allergen free cakes etc..
