Senior Group Accountant - 1 year Fixed Term Contract

The Opportunity

This leading Australian retailer is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant on a 12 month fixed-term contract to join our Finance Team.

You will play a key role in partnering with the wider Finance teams and Shared Services to ensure that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely and in compliance with accounting standards and disclosure requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Internal and External Reporting: Preparation of the Group’s interim and Annual Report
  • Preparation of reports and analysis to the CFO, Board and Audit Committee
  • Preparation and analysis of quarterly sales disclosures to the market
  • Partner with the business divisions in ensuring ongoing compliance with accounting and disclosure related matters
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers to support key accounting positions and judgments taken by the Group in respect of the financial results and other ad­hoc projects
  • Assist in the execution of corporate finance transactions (acquisitions, divestment's, debt/equity raising, buybacks and other financing initiatives)
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors in respect of financial audits and other audits of group results and reporting
  • Partner with the finance shared services team to deliver process improvement and timely insights during reporting cycles.
