Are you an established Enterprise Software Development Manager with a blended focus on strategic management and being a hands-on, technically sound leader?  Does an environment based on foundations of integrity, strong worth ethics, collaboration, and customer focus excite you?  Then this could be the role for you!

 

We are exclusively representing an international software company with a strong reputation and body of work in a niche industry sector.  Their product is well respected in the Government and Enterprise space, they are well established in the Australian market, and they have all the technical knowledge and support to continue winning clients throughout the region.

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Enterprise Solutions, the Development Manager leads and manages software product development and maintenance
teams in Australia and offshore with a focus on project delivery.

You will work in close collaboration with the Product Manager to develop a deliverable product roadmap, and align development team priorities accordingly; deliver projects on time, on budget, and on quality target; Manage the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); Establish and maintain relationships with clients; and Achieve strategic customer objectives.

 

We're looking for a positive, passionate, and proactive Manager with the following:

  • 5+ years’ experience leading teams in a software project delivery environment;
  • 5+ years as a senior developer or solutions architect (i.e. strong technical background);
  • Thorough understanding of and experience in current best practise software development methodologies covering all phases of the SDLC, including experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies;  
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a team of geographically distributed software engineers (including offshore staff);
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and outlining corrective action for project issues.
  • An ability to clearly present and articulate a value proposition; 
  • A ‘can do’ mindset focused on understanding and addressing customer needs; 
  • Commitment to project and product success which may require working unconventional hours during critical times. 
  • Desirable: Project management certification, e.g. PMP;
  • Desirable: Experience with Web application development and frameworks. 

 

This is a full-time role based in the Brisbane CBD.  A competitive salary package will be negotiated for the successful candidate.
