The Role

Work alongside our knowledgeable Finance Manager and play a key role in the success of our small Finance team. As Accounts Assistant, your main responsibilities will be to process all accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions on a daily basis and processing of the month end journals related to accrued expenses, revenue & deferred revenue accruals and prepayments. In more details you will:

  • Review and process invoice payment.
  • Manage weekly and ad hoc EFT, cheque runs and authorisation processes.
  • Accounts balance sheet reconciliations, month end accruals and closure
  • Manage and process petty cash, monthly float count
  • Customer service for internal and external customers.
  • Undertake monthly inventory stocktakes and reconciliation of inventory movement.
  • Manage and audit UNSW Sport Clubs.
  • Quarterly fixed asset audit, assist with the annual audit.

Apart from that you will have plenty of opportunities to get involved in the variety of events and initiatives aiming to provide the best possible experience to the students of UNSW. From BBQs to sport events, we get all together and have fun making sure that we are the best Arc we can be.

Your Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Accounting, with minimum 2 year’s experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Accounting software with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skillset
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a customer focused team environment.
  • Excellent time management with a strong ability to meet set deadlines.
