Graduate Network Engineer

About the role

As part of the CTO group, this role is best suited to a graduate engineer or someone with less than 5 years experience who is wishing to develop and grow with a leading technology company.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining our R&D lab in Perth and working within the CTO group to test new technology before deployment in the network as well as developing new products and services. 

  • Conducts research to improve the technological assets of the business
  • Operate and maintain our R&D laboratory in Perth
  • Assist in the development of new products and services for the sales team
  • Assist in the maintenance of our product and service catalogue ensuring alignment to OptiComm market requirements
  • Conduct testing of new products and services as part of the gating process
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the technical standards for the network

You should possess the following:

  • Degree in related field
  • Preferred at least 2 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry, but graduates will be considered.
  • Highly desirable to have CCNP, JNCIP or similar qualification or at least similar level of experience
  • Good working knowledge of operating environments such as LAMP and development languages such as PHP, Python and SQL
  • Experience in working/internship for an Internet Service Provider or Telecommunications Carrier 
  • Good working knowledge of security, firewalls and protection of IP networks
  • Knowledge of BGP, OSFP, MPLS and other IP protocols
  • Ability to analyse, understand and resolve technical problems or issues
  • Full working rights in Australia
