About the Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant with a mature mindset, attention to detail and “can-do” attitude, who also is willing to take challenges as opportunities in our Sydney accounts team. We will further your skills in process and procedures of key accounting tasks for our Australasian wine business.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the multi-national team, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Cashflow Management - (Essential to the role) Multiple entities cash flow budgeting and forecasting.

Payroll process - Multiple entities in Australia and NZ (including PAYG, PAYE and Superannuation)

Inter-company Recon - Inter-company recharges Invoices Issuing and Bill Entering

Recharges - Group Bills Entering into NetSuite based on recharge portion

Supplier management and monthly reconciliation-Liaise with local and oversea supplies and manage daily bank and credit card payments for multiple entities.

Consignment Stock Management- Calculate and billing consignment stock invoices and reconcile statements.

Tax calculation and lodgement- Monthly Payroll tax calculation and payments.

Month End Reconciliation - Monthly Reconciliation of Customer Deposits, Deposits Paid, GR/IR accounts for multiple entities

Ad-hoc - As required

The skills you will develop:

  • Gain Proficiency in NetSuite to streamline existing processes with a constant view to improving functional use of the system and the resultant productivity gains.
  • Liaising with inter-divisional colleagues to streamline inter-divisional recharges and settlement process.
  • Liaising with Buying and Sales teams to ensure processes are managed efficiently
  • Liaising with overseas based team members for support and training and process efficiency

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2 to 3 years accounting experience
  • Qualified or progressing to accounting qualification
  • Proficient in microsoft office suite of applications or google drive
  • Experience with Excel, Accounting systems, NetSuite preferred, banking software.
  • A strong understanding of English language in both written and verbal communication.
  • Familiar with both Australian and NZ accounting standards.
  • Experience with Payroll processes in Australia and NZ.
  • Quick problem-solving skills with reliable performance, attention to detail and requires little supervision follow-up.
  • An enthusiastic professional who works hard, as well as works smart to effectively manage time and meet strict deadlines with shifting priorities.

This is a temp contract role covering maternity leave with the possibility of a permanent position.

Salary will be negotiated in respect to candidate's experience:
