Head of Audit & Verification

 

WA Return Recycle Renew is a small organisation making a big change. WARRRL is the Scheme Coordinator for the WA container deposit scheme, Containers for Change. The scheme will help clean up Western Australia, creating a better future for us all by reducing litter, increasing recycling and creating exciting new opportunities for social enterprise across the state.

The opportunity

This role focuses on ensuring the integrity of the Container Deposit Scheme via the design and implementation of audit and integrity program, along with risk identification and mitigation activities. Responsibilities will include:

  • Drive standards among scheme participants
  • Identify and resolve anomalies in the movement and volume of containers that may indicate fraudulent activity;
  • Oversee fraud investigations and outcomes;
  • Development and oversight of WARRRL risk management framework and internal audit plan, including reporting to WARRRL Audit and Risk Committee.

What you need

  • Extensive audit experience within the waste sector
  • strong governance capability and attention to detail
  • understanding of fraud and forensic investigations
  • advanced customer relationship skills
  • A satisfactory National Police History Check
  • A current valid Driver's License
  • A reliable and roadworthy, fully insured vehicle that you are prepared to use for work
