MAJOR EVENTS OFFICER

About the role:

There is an opportunity for a Major Events Officer within The Hills Shire Council’s Customer, Community Services and Technology group. The prime function of this role is to assist with technical and operational support of the Council events program

Duties include:

  • Project manage events as required as outlined in the Annual Events Program
  • Support Senior Events Officer in major events deliver as required 
  • Provide advice to Coordinator Community and Events on event matters
  • Prepare and implement risk management plans and ensure production schedules are prepared in accordance with procedures
  • Act as the primary Event Manager during designated events and manage and mentor event staff and volunteers

About you:

To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Events Officer and will possess:

  1. Event Management tertiary qualifications and/or a minimum of 5 years event experience in a similar capacity
  2. Knowledge of contemporary trends and best practice in event management
  3. High level verbal and written communicate skills required
  4. Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders including internal stakeholders, community groups and customers on a range of community development and events issues
  5. High level conflict management and customer service skills
  6. Experience in traffic, parking and pedestrian management at events 
  7. RMS Traffic Controller certification - Desirable
