About the role
This position sits within the Physical Wellbeing Team. The Exercise Physiologist will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement client-centred exercise programs for clients with chronic and complex conditions. The work will involve 1-1 work as well as group programs.
The Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning and exercise prescription skills. You will be accountable for providing quality client care through the application of clinical skills in assessment, planning, implementation, treatment and management of your clients. You will also have a leading role in education of staff, students as well as program development.
The successful applicant will facilitate our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program along with our Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurses as well as other exercise groups. They will also work with our NDIS clients, Medicare Funded Services as well as our Social Support Programs.
About you
Applicants must have (Key Selection Criteria):
- A degree qualification in Exercise Science or Human Movement
- Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
- An Employment Working with Children’s Check
- Eligible for registration of a Medicare provider number.
- A minimum of 3 years working as an Exercise Physiologist. Experience working in a Community Setting with CALD, Aged clients, Disability and those with chronic illnesses will be highly regarded.
- Experience conducting, developing and evaluating therapeutic and/or health education groups.
- Experience with Student and AHA supervision
