Night Shift Render Operator

Employing over 1,500 Queenslanders and together our diverse operation processes 300,000 head of cattle across our large-scale breeding, backgrounding, farming and feedlotting through to our modern food processing and value-add packing facility.


About the role:

 This position is a full time permanent position responsible for supporting and maintaining day to day operations to ensure safety, environmental, preventative maintenance to production.
Reporting to the Render Supervisor, this role is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Proven ability (a minimum of 2 years) working in a similar role;
  • Operating the day to day requirements of the rendering plant;
  • Produce high work standards to ensure that yields are achieved;
  • Minimise product loss and production down time;
  • Possess excellent attendance and timekeeping;
  • Perform tasks in a safe manner, and use and maintain PPE is correct at all times;
  • Compliance with Code of Conduct, for example, behaviour is cooperative towards others and respect for diversity;
  • Adaptability and productivity in your work processes and tasks;
  • Focus on efficiency and effectiveness in performing assigned tasks;
  • Contributing to a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement;
  • Ensuring safe work practices and Standard Operational Procedures are followed at all times.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
  • Previous experience in rendering plants;
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent time management;
  • Environmental awareness;
  • Formal ARA qualifications will be highly regarded;
  • Clear understanding of Maintenance Best Practices and mechanical aptitude;
  • An understanding of continuous improvement processes;
  • People with Waste Water Treatment experience will be highly regarded;
  • The ability to identify "better ways of working" and improve existing systems of work.
