ABOUT THE POSITION

 

Due to retirement, a rare opportunity exists for a suitably skilled Payroll Officer to join the Payroll and HR team on a full-time bases. Situated at our modern manufacturing facility in Salisbury South, the role will provide a range of high quality payroll services to the Bickford's Group. The role will execute all facets of payroll processing and associated activities, ensuring accuracy and tasks are delivered within agreed time frames, whilst making sure processes comply with governing statutory requirements. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate preparation, costing, reconciliation and payment of employee salaries and wages
  • Processing deductions and statutory returns
  • Calculating and processing leave entitlements
  • Advising and resolving payroll matters
  • Managing the processing of pays fortnightly for 250 people and up to 350 people during the peak period
  • Supporting payroll processing for all Bickford's Group entities including managing payroll functions in the absence of the Payroll Manager
  • Providing human resource administration services
  • Supporting departments in applying and executing payroll policies and processes

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will have:

  • 3 + years' experience in a Payroll Officer role ideally within the FMCG or retail environment
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing
  • Availability to commence work at 8.00am every second Monday and Wednesday for the pay runs
  • Knowledge and understanding of awards, namely the General Retail Industry Award 2010
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements including Superannuation, PAYG Tax, payroll tax, compensation and termination of pay processing
  • Solid experience with Sage MicrOpay
  • Experience with ClockOn and/or ADI Time (time recording systems) is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Outstanding organisational and problem solving skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • Exceptional attention to accuracy and detail
