Assistant Village Manager | Surat Basin | FIFO & BIBO

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Assistant Village Manager to join our team and manage one of the villages based in the Surat Basin. This is a high profile, diverse role with a broad range of responsibilities including;

The Role

Remote site management experience a must, preference to candidates with experience within the resource industry.

This hands on role will be the first point of contact for our client, residents and staff. You will have your finger on the pulse of the operation identifying problems and dealing with issues efficiently and with a strong customer focus.

The Assistant Village Manager must liaise with the Accommodation Supervisor to ensure rosters are up to date and adequately provide for the delivery of room management services. This includes managing the arrival and departure of camp residents and staff as well as managing the cleaning schedule for rooms and other village/camp facilities. Efficient liaison with the Service Management Teams and Supervisors to ensure rosters are up to date and all appropriate policies and procedures are followed to adequately provide for the delivery of all services.

This position is a hands-on assistant managerial role which requires you to work in various areas of the business.  The Assistant Village Manager will manage staff on a daily basis and must be able to delegate tasks quickly and efficiently to ensure service is not delayed.  It is essential to be a leader, able to motivate and train staff to deliver the services in a professional, efficient, and economic fashion on a daily basis. You will receive broad direction from the Village Manager but will be expected to perform duties unsupervised so must be responsible and self-reliant.  The position therefore requires an individual with the willingness to work flexible hours and an ability to manage their own time in order to meet deadlines. 

In the absence of the Village Manager, the Assistant Village Manager may be asked to act in that role and be responsible for high level contract oversight, Human Resource, Contractual functions and other such duties as performed by the Village Manager on a daily basis.

You will deliver a wide range of services which include:

  • Ensuring a seamless level of service that is of consistently high service standard to our guests
  • Act as the conduit between key stakeholders and accountable for whole of site operations
  • Accountability for financials under delivery of scope 
  • Providing leadership to the team in the areas of contract scope, continuous improvement, safety and training
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of the operational requirements and developing effective systems and processes which facilitate the achievement of contract objectives
  • Accountability for all ensuring all departments within the village are operating efficiently and within scope 
  • Ensuring our staff are the face of Spotless and play a pivotal role in delivering the services commitment we have made to our clients.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a management position with staff supervision;
  • Impeccable Safety Leadership skills
  • Proven experience working with budgets and profit / loss reports;
  • Experience in Accommodation Management (desirable);
  • Proven Leadership Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership/coaching qualities
  • Proven ability to performance manage staff of differing skill base
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven financial management capabilities and computer literacy
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships
  • Lateral thinker with effective problem solving capabilities
  • Operate safe practices, act as a role model and provide guidance to your team to ensure the safety of the team, customers and visitors is upheld
  • Ability to keep calm and work under pressure as well as adhering to tight deadlines
