Junior Production Assistant

At the National Rugby League (NRL) we’re very proud of our game and the impact it has on players, fans, commercial partners, communities and all involved.

We’re a diverse group of people who use the power of sport to drive positive social change in communities. Our programs help raise awareness to many issues, including mental health, domestic violence and Indigenous affairs. To us, it’s much more than a game of footy and our employees are much more than a number.

We are currently on the lookout for a Junior Production Assistant to join the Content Services team at the NRL. The successful candidate will play a multi-skilled role in a small agency style team that has a big output of quality content across the entertainment and promotion of rugby league at the highest level.

The role has a wide span; the successful candidate will facilitate the Content Services department’s daily operation by ensuring clear communication and high-quality service is provided to stakeholders and will work closely with the production manager and producers to create great photo and video content.

Responsibilities Include:

Production Assistant:
  • Input to the creative process and brief curation for NRL internal departments and external clients
  • Planning of pre-production documentation, contact list and running orders
  • Production runner duties for photography shoots, video shoots and podcasts
  • Video editing of short-form content for second and third-tier clients
  • Traffic management on all key deliverables
 Content Services Duties:
  • Respond to internal and external photo and vision requests
  • Booking and scheduling of photographers
  • Major event photography production schedules
  • Manage weekly parking roster for night/weekend shift parking
  • Daily operations of NRL Imagery email inbox
 Travel & Event Coordination:
  • Travel bookings – photographers, journalists, content and social team
This junior role will provide great experience; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on the role and, over time, develop deep subject matter expertise in digital content, production management or studio environments.

While not necessary, a qualification in media or communications is beneficial.  As is a demonstrated ability to support production and logistics in prior roles.

This is a full-time position, mostly during office hours, with occasional special events covering evenings and weekend work. This position is mostly based in the Australian Technology Park in Eveleigh.

The NRL is a child-safe organisation committed to providing a safe place for all children to learn and have fun. We have strong recruitment procedures to make sure the safest and most suitable people work with us and require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment, a process that will include, but is not limited to comprehensive reference checks, an identity check, “Working with Children” checks and/or national criminal history checks.

The successful applicant will also share the NRL’s beliefs that we are United, Positive, Inclusive and Disciplined.

Knowledge of Rugby League is great, however not essential for this role. For us it’s more about attitude, work ethic and aligning with our organisations beliefs. Should you meet these as well as experience in a similar position we would love to receive your application.
