St Laurence O'Toole is a Catholic co-educational primary school located in Leongatha, a dairy town in the picturesque foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges. Catering for approximately 220 students, the school is known for its Christ-centred approach to learning, excellent facilities, spacious grounds and specialist programs.
Education Support Officer

The role of Education Support Officer (ESO) is to assist classroom teachers in the implementation of specific learning programs for targeted students with special learning needs in the areas of literacy and numeracy in each classroom.

The St Laurence O'Toole school community is committed to the protection, safety and wellbeing of all children in our care.

The ESO position, is at this stage, fixed term for 2019. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Successful completion of a Certificate 3 or 4 in Education Support, or equivalent, is most preferred and relevant experience in working with students with disabilities (particularly Autism) would also be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the importance of professionalism and confidentiality in relation to the work of education support staff needs to be clearly articulated.
  • Knowledge of the Catholic ethos of the school would be an advantage.
  • The position available for 2019 school year is - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8.50 am to 1.30pm.
  • The pay rate is determined via the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement (VCEMEA)  provisions, based on qualifications and years of experience.
  • demonstrate a mature and compassionate manner of working with students.
