Thrive Refugee Enterprise is a not-for-profit organisation that assists people of refugee and asylum-seeking background to start their own small businesses by providing small business loans and ongoing mentoring/training support. Since 2017, Thrive has provided loans to establish almost 200 small businesses. With demand for its services increasing and a plan to move beyond Melbourne and Sydney, there is a need to bolster its executive leadership.

Reporting directly into the Executive Director, the General Manager will be responsible for leading the day to day operations of the business including effective development and management of client pipeline, the leadership of a passionate Thrive team and the delivery of partnership programs that enhance Thrive’s brand awareness and market demand. Due to continued growth, the General Manager will be also be involved in the development and implementation of a national strategy establishing offices in other key states while improving processes and systems efficiencies. 

You are a current or former small business banker or finance professional with responsibility for managing a region or customer segment. You will have significant experience in small business lending including business development and management of portfolio performance. Having spent many years in the corporate finance environment, you are seeking a change where you can make a meaningful difference to society with your commercial judgement and sound business acumen. Demonstrating strong operational experience, a passion for business lending and a track record in finance loans, you are inspired by the opportunity to positively transform the lives of refugees and asylum seekers by helping them build successful businesses and fulfilling lives, and meaningfully contribute to the Australian economy and society.
