Funding, Grants and Projects Officer

Youth Focus is a for-purpose organisation with a mission to optimise life opportunities for young people experiencing challenges in mental health.  The Youth Focus vision is that all young people are able to be healthy, engage in society and enjoy their own wellbeing and self-determination. 

This position is responsible for identifying new funding opportunities to grow existing and new service opportunities, including writing and submitting grant and tender applications and overseeing tracking and acquittal processes to meeting funder requirements. This role will also support projects, compliance and services development initiatives in the roll-out of work as required.

What’s involved:

  • Support the Chief Operations Officer in the management of the organisations grants, tenders, awards and funding applications. This includes:
    • Researching and identifying new funding opportunities to drive revenue and service growth
    • Writing and delivering a range of grant submissions for budgeted and new service opportunities
    • Ensuring agreed scope of all grants and partnership agreements are tracked, delivered and acquitted as per funder requirements
  • Implement procedures to manage, track and report on current status of all secured grants and tenders.
  • Draft acquittal reports as required for funding bodies and corporate partners.
  • Maintain and grow an active pipeline of new funding opportunities
  • Utilise transferable skills to assist key team leads with projects including those which may involve compliance, services development and other initiatives.

To succeed, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and securing new sources of funding
  • Demonstrated experience in grant and tender writing, including preparing applications for submission and preparation of subsequent reports and acquittals.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with funders and key internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in the use of relationship management systems.
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business or Marketing is highly desirable.
