About the opportunity

We have opportunities available for Carer Support Workers to join our Adoption, Permanent Care and Carer Intake team. The positions are permanent full time or part time, based at our Dandenong office. The Carer Support Workers will provide consumer-centred, trauma informed service delivery to children, young people, their families and carers. The role takes on a proactive approach to problem solving with a strong focus on working towards achieving positive consumer outcomes.

About you

To be successful in your application you will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent (essential)
  • A tertiary degree in social work or related field (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care and therapeutic parenting practices
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people who have experienced past trauma and abuse
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain comprehensive case files, consumer records and reports in accordance with program requirements
