What is the role?

We have a great opportunity for a registered,and preferably, experienced  Occupational Therapist to join our team and service our clients within the Maroochydore Service Centre and related clinics. This is a full time position for a fixed term. 

This role is also suitable for new graduates and we welcome your application!

This role is a fixed term maternity leave contract and you will complement our existing team of therapists. You will be working alongside another experienced OT and will report directly to the Service Centre Manager. A 9 day fortnight is available but we are flexible with this. After school appointment hours for our customers are essential - must be available in the afternoons.

What are the responsibilities?

As a Registered, and preferably, experienced Occupational Therapist, you will be required to:

  • Provide high quality Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for clients in a professional, confidential and culturally safe manner, in keeping with accepted best practice standards which include clinic-based appointments and home visits.
  • Ensure integrated service delivery and follow up, coordinating and communicating as required with other relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Accurate and timely documentation of stakeholder communication in accordance with approved format
  • Accurately and concisely record all customer interaction and workload management statistics to facilitate the analysis of service trends
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of a range of disabilities and conditions
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other allied health staff within Montrose Therapy & Respite Services
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with Code of Conduct and comply with all Montrose Therapy Policies & Procedures
  • Adhere to all work health & safety policies and compliant within the ethical boundaries of Montrose Therapy and AHPRA

What are the requirements?

  1. Mandatory recognised tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  2. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and/or in a sole professional in this environment
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide high quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients in a professional, and culturally safe manner
  4. Demonstrated effective verbal and written skills with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, establishing trust and rapport, maintaining confidentiality and record keeping
  5. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team is preferable.
  6. Current CPR
  7. Evidence of completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  8. A current drivers' licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential for service provision.
