About the role
We have an opportunity for a graduate Software Engineer to join our development team. Our engineers develop advance software systems that provide great value for our clients, allowing them to maintain leadership in the fast changing retail marketplace. Our platform handles information at massive scale, across multiple platforms and technology stacks. As a graduate, you will have an opportunity to work on a range of increasingly complex projects, as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.
We define software engineer as a person who applies the principles of engineering to the design, development, maintenance, and verification of computer software. As a Software Engineer at Retail Directions, you will be responsible for the design, coding, testing and maintenance of software and database component outputs, as a part of the Software Development Lifecycle. You’ll also be required to review and maintain the technical documentation that is produced during the SDLC, and if required, to maintain and provide resolutions to enquiries raised by clients with respect to the software as developed. We provide on the job training and you will be working in a commercial DevOps environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology and Systems or equivalent.
- Knowledge of SQL and database systems.
- Knowledge of C# and the .Net framework would be an advantage.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- A passion to learn and take ownership of tasks on hand.
- Working experience in retail stores or warehouses would also be of high value.
