Development Underwriter - AM&T | Northern Region - Brisbane-based      

  • Qld based  business development UW role
  • Engaging with brokers in Int'l, metro & regional brokerages
  • Focus on creating strong broker relationships and profitable underwriting

 

AM&T works with a large network of brokers nationally to deliver consistent, sustainable insurance risk solutions for our broker partners and their clients. The AM&T team works on marine risk across cargo, carriers, commercial hull and marine liabilities.

As an AM&T Development Underwriter you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a pipeline of new business as well as involvement in the renewal process. Working with a range of broking houses, you will utilise AM&T's underwriting capabilities providing bespoke solutions to foster a profitable and growing portfolio with the broker and end customer in mind.  You will continually strive to "be the Benchmark" in our sector.

You will be working alongside the Development Manager in managing and retaining relationships with existing partners in QLD/NT and across the Northern Region as well as developing new relationships with intermediaries and ensuring service levels are met in accordance with the Sales plan. There is a collective goal of achieving annual financial plans along with quarterly targets.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite tailored business at an individual risk level for both renewals and new business as required;
  • Develop and execute call plans for brokers as well as strategic partnerships, in conjunction with required visitations assisting the Development Manager;
  • Pro-actively seek out opportunities to profitably develop a consistently growing portfolio;
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues within your immediate team as well as the broader business.

 Important to your success:

  • A technical understanding of marine risk would be beneficial;
  • Superior customer focus and drive to maintain broker relationships;
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail‎ with an enthusiasm, energy and focus on delivering results and achieving sales targets;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative work ‎environment.
  • Tertiary and/ or ANZIIF qualifications‎ desirable
