Project Officer

headspace Albany are currently seeking expressions of interest for a casual Projects Officer to assist in the development and delivery of the “Painting Change” program in accordance with the project objectives, budgets and schedule. This initiative, owned and inspired by the work of the Young Men’s Project Albany challenges the stereotype that men don’t tell anyone when they are struggling.

Painting Change had its beginning in early 2019, following the suspected suicides of two young men in the City of Albany, Western Australia. For more information on this budding initiative, visit paintingchange.com.au.

What’s expected from this role:

  • To work towards the implementation of outcomes from the Painting Change project including Painting Change exhibition.
  • To increase (young) men’s engagement with mental health issues and help seeking behaviour.
  • To work with headspace Albany to develop and deliver Painting Change workshops, focus groups and events to schools, sporting clubs and other groups of men
  • Produce content for the Painting Change project communication platforms – website and social media platforms
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and stakeholders to increase outcomes from the Painting Change project.

What we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in public speaking and presentation to groups.
  • Experience in project management and meeting deadlines and standards.
  • Ability to co-ordinate focus groups and activities and campaigns aimed at eliciting client feedback information.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Intermediate level competency in Microsoft Office suite and Social Media platforms.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or professional experience in the mental health sector is highly desirable.
