The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer and one of an elite group of hospitals worldwide to have its own integrated cancer research program and laboratories. An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join the Stem Cell Growth Regulation Laboratory.

 

We are currently seeking a Full Time (1.0 EFT) Research Assistant for a 1 year fixed term position, with the opportunity for future extension. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in line with the Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020; classification scale 1RA2 to 1RA6.

  

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and organised Scientist capable of working in an independent manner within an existing team. He/she will be self-driven, possess a love of learning and have a friendly and enthusiastic disposition. Outstanding organisational and record keeping skills, ability to conduct independent research, excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work with independence and collaboratively as part of a team are essential. Demonstrated technical capacity and skills in cellular and molecular biology is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a B.Sc. Hons (or equivalent experience) or masters in Developmental/Cell Biology.
