About the vacancy

As part of Adelaide Festival Centre’s drive to build on its strong position as an internationally recognised performing arts centre, an opportunity has become available to join the Creative Programs Department in the position of Programming Coordinator – Adelaide Guitar Festival.

To support the development and delivery of the Adelaide Guitar Festival’s 2020 program from 1 July – 9 August including event logistics for ticketed events and educational, wellbeing, community and regional programs.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a festival or major event environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a consultative team building style and lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.

Previous experience in coordinating artist schedules, travel and accommodation and an understanding of the arts/entertainment and/or music industries is highly desirable.

This employment opportunity will be offered as a 7-month fixed term full time contract.

In consultation with the Producer, Adelaide Guitar Festival, the Programming Coordinator – Adelaide Guitar Festival responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain festival schedules, systems and operating procedures to ensure the effective delivery of the Adelaide Guitar Festival, including creating and maintaining databases, event grids, artist itineraries, artist rehearsal schedules, travel and accommodation schedules and other scheduling as required.;
  • Implement briefing information for key service providers and key festival personnel and volunteers to support the smooth running of the festival;
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure festival service provisions, including accommodation and travel fall within the budget. Ensure the Producer is supplied with relevant information for budget updates in a timely manner;
  • Assist in the preparation of venue contracts and BASS builds for all performances and activities within agreed deadlines;
  • Implement briefing information for key service providers and key festival personnel and volunteers to support the smooth running of the festival;
  • Coordinate Australian Visa applications in conjunction with artists/ agents, Live Performance Australia and DIAC. Ensure the Producer is updated regularly on visa approval processes;
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Department, assist in the proofing of materials relating to artist information within nominated deadlines;
