Assistant Accountant

About the role

This role will report to the Financial Controller whilst having defined areas of accountability to drive.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn a great deal and take away valuable skills. 

In addition, the office is located in the CBD, close to public transport options.

The Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of statutory accounts and returns
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual fund distributions
  • Accounts payable
  • Assistance with management accounting & internal reporting
  • Maintaining relationships with internal & external stakeholders

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:  

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Have completed CA/CPA or recently qualified
  • At least 2 - 4 years experience in the industry
  • Strong Excel Skills, including V-lookup, pivot tables and queries
  • Exposure to SAP will be beneficial
  • System knowledge or interest
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for the agribusiness industry would be looked upon favourably.
