About the role:

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Operator. Based in Karratha, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining water supply, sewerage and drainage schemes within the District.

What the role will involve:

  • Actively participating in safe job planning, team meetings and workplace inspections
  • Completing scheduled work to time and quality standards
  • Working with other parties including contractors and other utilities in the delivery of operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Carrying out operations and maintenance tasks using specialist tools, plant and equipment supplied for such activity.

Key skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Water Operations or considerable water utility experience
  • Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • Western Australian “HR” Truck Licence
  • Experience in water supply and wastewater systems
  • Self-motivated to work independently and the use of judgement and expertise in problem solving
  • Be available for required rostered overtime and call-out emergencies outside of normal working hours
