THE ROLE

Assets & Operations have a vacancy for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to assist the Council in the development and implementation of asset management systems, policies, procedures and programs for all water supply, sewerage and effluent reuse mechanical, electrical and telemetry assets, including the overseeing of contractors providing associated services.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking the development and supervision of mechanical, electrical and telemetry projects including design development, procurement and contract administration.
  • Administering works programs including setting of works standards, inspections, systems monitoring, reporting and other related activities.
  • Assisting in the strategic planning through the development and maintenance of long-term financial models, annual and long-term capital works programs and asset management plans.
  • Undertake administration and reporting associated with water and sewer mechanical and electrical assets.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced Engineer that has a flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt and promote change in the workplace. Your ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders is essential in this position.

You will also meet the following criteria:

  • Engineering degree or Advanced Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in any or all of: mechanical or electrical engineering, automation, or, instrumentation and control.
  • Sound knowledge in programming and database management knowledge (e.g. PLC logic programming, SQL or other as relevant).
  • Proven experience in water supply, sewerage and effluent reuse system knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in a project, consultant and contractor management environment.Please see position description for full list of duties.

This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week. Remuneration commences at $1714.40 per week as per the Local Government (State) Award 2017, plus 9.5 % employer superannuation contribution, 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance and a leaseback vehicle.
