As one of Tasmania’s most iconic heavy industrial processing and manufacturing organisations we have a proud heritage dating back to 1941, while continuing to be one of the State’s major economic export contributors and employers within Southern Tasmania. The Boyer Mill is located on the Derwent River, 30 minute drive from Hobart.

About The Roles:

This is an exciting opportunity for two high achieving, self-motivated and dedicated individuals who genuinely want to gain practical, theoretical and hands-on experience in either Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering within the manufacturing industry.

We will provide a highly supportive team environment, a competitive salary, a 38 hour week, additional training opportunities and a challenging, interesting and varied working environment. You will work on a wide range of equipment and processes within the Pulp and Paper plants and spend time across the site to gain an understanding of all key areas of the business.

Through your development you will become an effective member of the Boyer Mill workforce and contribute to the challenges in maintaining an efficient operation. After completing this two year term you will be a sought after engineer capable of gaining employment in any manufacturing or process industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic or Chemical)
  • Desire to work as a Mechanical or Process Engineer in the manufacturing industry
  • Proactive commitment to health, safety and environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated attitude with ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills
