The School of Environment and Science is a foundation School of Griffith University within the Sciences Group offering innovative and quality science education. The School is home to the disciplines of Bioscience, Ecology & Evolution, Marine Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Forensics & Archaeology, Applied Mathematics & Physics, and Environmental Planning & Management.

We offer a wide range of pioneering degree programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies including Environmental Science, Marine Science, Forensic Science, Biomedical Science, Medical Science (pre-medicine program) as well as a comprehensive Bachelor of Science.

The opportunity
The Marketing and Engagement Officer is part of the Griffith Sciences marketing and communications team and will be based in the School of Environment and Science. The principle objective of this position is to coordinate and organise the student recruitment, outreach and alumni engagement activities for the School within the wider Griffith Sciences Group context. The position will also be responsible for coordinating content for digital marketing activities and will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including discipline heads, Office of Marketing and Communications, high schools, TAFEs and other feeder groups.

This is a fixed term (available until 29 th January 2021), full-time position based at either the Nathan or Gold Coast campuses (travel between campuses is required).

About you
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in an area relating to marketing, public relations or communications, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education and training. The appointee will have the ability to develop, implement and evaluate marketing and engagement strategies and have the ability to write and prepare content for a wide range of purposes, audiences and contexts. It is expected that the position will work under limited supervision so the appointee will require the ability to work independently and to exercise individual judgement in undertaking responsibilities.

Salary
HEW 5: $66,154 - $74,409 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $77,400 - $87,058 per annum.
