The Infants’ Home Child and Family Services is a leading provider of high quality early childhood education and care, allied health and early intervention services for children and families. For over 145 years, the key focus of our work has been supporting families and children experiencing hardship or vulnerabilities to make a more positive future.  As one of Australia’s most established charitable organisations, The Infants’ Home is about to embark on an exciting new phase as we head towards our 150th year in 2024. We are now seeking an IT Support Officer to build upon our existing foundation and grow from it.  

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of the Business Services team, this role is an opportunity for a keen IT specialist to grow into the role and take on more technical responsibilities over time.

This position is responsible for providing IT helpdesk support and maintenance, including technical assistance and support related to computer systems (hardware/software) and telephony. The role also involves responding to queries, troubleshooting, running diagnostics and isolating problems, and implementing solutions.

This is a part-time role based at The Infants’ Home site in Ashfield.

Essential Criteria

The successful candidate will be experienced and adaptable and able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in IT Support/Helpdesk or a similar position
  • Completion of a course/degree in Information Technology
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of software, networks and operating systems
  • Experience in the delivery of a range of IT support – hardware/software/connectivity/network issues/remote support
  • Experience in network troubleshooting, maintaining and restoring system backups
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring IT systems, applications and security
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining procedures, policies and other documentation
  • A strong desire to learn and keep abreast of new and emerging technologies
  • Excellent customer service skills coupled with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective cross-culture communication (highly desirable)
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • Advanced IT literacy and the ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Valid Working with Children Check (or be able to obtain prior to employment)
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
