Storeperson

The Opportunity

Our Procurement team is looking for a Storeperson to take a lead role in supporting the organisation through efficiently leading and delivering material resources to ensure the Program of Work (PoW) schedule can be completed.

You'll play a key role in investigating, measuring and identifying causes of discrepancies with inventory, as well as handling warehouse processes, material processing and ensuring excellent customer service and improving safety standards.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively with the organisation to achieve business outcomes, and improve processes.
  • Participating in receipting, unloading/loading, housekeeping, picking, packing, dispatch and distribution services.
  • Processing all receipts, issue and adjustment transactions within a material management system.
  • Maintenance and checking of stock in the warehouse
  • Accurately using all appropriate tools, devices, materials, personal protective equipment and pollution controls.
  • Maintenance and input to the review of warehouse documentation
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

We'll need you to have:

  • Experience or a good understanding in all aspects of receipting, warehousing, issuing and distribution processes
  • Knowledge of modern warehousing concepts
  • Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with well-developed proof reading and accurate data entry skills
  • High Risk Forklift licence
  • Proficient in the use and operation of PC’s, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), Microsoft Outlook, and use of the Internet

It would be great if you had, but not essential:

  • Experience in the use of inventory management systems (Oracle - Desirable)
  • Rigging/ dogging qualifications (desirable)
  • Knowledge of current Chain of Responsibility Laws (desirable)
  • Knowledge/experience in the verification of safe load restraint (desirable)
