BOARD DIRECTOR - Hospital Foundation

Business leader, Board Member & influencer to champion this unique non- profit & support its quest to attract vital major gifts.

  • Board meets bi-monthly from Feb
  • This Board appointment is honorary but influential and high profile
  • Bring multiple skills/experience gained on Boards + in business

This Foundation is the philanthropic arm of one of Queensland’s largest clinical trials centres. It has a proud history of providing the seed funding for world class research into serious   health conditions and so helping to finance discoveries that have saved millions of lives globally.

Now, with an innovative, donor-directed funding model, the Foundation is also working close to the community. It raises the funds to finance multiple projects that translate research into improved patient care and bring the results rapidly from bench to bedside.

Supported by a dynamic CEO with a strongly professional, collaborative and multi-skilled Board, The Foundation is well placed to continue on its trajectory of flourishing growth and development.

But, still missing from this positive scenario is one seasoned Director. To complete the synergy of this Board, we need to locate a very special Director. They will be an influential business leader and champion of causes who understands inherently why benefactors choose to make sizeable gifts to medical science – and how to create a culture to meet their needs.

We’d anticipate that you will be (at the least) fundraising literate but especially attuned to modern-day philanthropy. You have some original ideas on how philanthropic giving might be harnessed more effectively – locally and globally – and why it’s so crucial to continue    boosting this type of funding for medical research.

Clearly, appointing a new Director with this understanding and the acumen and networks to make it happen is vitally important to this Board.

If you can add an impeccable reputation and some (or dare we say, all) of the following attributes, we will be delighted to receive your Expression of Interest in this prestigious Board appointment.

  • A consummate command of best practice governance.
  • Entrepreneurial instincts and an acknowledged champion of causes
  • Level-headed lateral/innovative thinking with top-level financial acumen
  • A strong record of inclusive leadership and persuasive action
  • An extensive, well nurtured network
  • A sharp and analytical mind with an appreciation of how fundraising works
  • An, empathetic, intuitive and collaborative approach
  • Sufficient time available to genuinely invest in this position
  • The willingness to champion this research foundation at every opportunity
  • And a genuine desire to help create a better world

To be considered for this role, please forward your cover letter and your resume in WORD format quoting reference number DBDGHF to apply@windsor-group.com.au or contact Dylys Bertelsen on 07 3211 0001.
