About the role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Coal Quality Coordinator/ Mine Geologist for an impressive coal mining operation in Northern NSW. You will provide coal quality and mine geologist expertise and valuable support to the operation. Reporting to the superintendent you will work across geological, coal quality management and operational support functions. About you

Ideally having a relevant coal mining background coupled with geology qualifications with exposure to mine operations and exploration environments. Your focus on safety, coal quality and effective utilisation of mining software will enable you to grow with this organisation and deliver against the business objectives. Ideally you will have 3+ years working in a similar role in an open cut coal environment.

Key duties and accountabilities:

  • Knowledge of mining engineering, CHPP environments, geological and technical functions.
  • Excellent communication skills between the Coal Quality, Technical Services and CHPP departments
  • Manage reports, identify improvements and cost savings
  • Ensure safety and compliance in all relevant areas
  • Provide technical support and advice 
  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor others
  • Utilise applicable mining software such as Minescape and Vulcan
