Packaging Machine Specialist

About the role

Reporting to the Packaging Services Manager, this role provides specialist attention and care to the Schubert packaging systems, Scott’s robots and palletisers within the plant.

As this is a specialist role you will be required to spread your knowledge by training and coaching of the reliability and operations teams on the operation and maintenance of the plant.

You will be required to:

  • Ensure that the Schubert packaging machines, robots and palletisers are reliable and are always fit for purpose;
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure spares and equipment are maintained and ready for preventative maintenance;
  • Train, mentor and coach the operations and reliability teams on the safe and correct operating procedures of the equipment, where required build Stand Operating Procedures and training plans for the teams; and
  • Review all corrective action/preventative maintenance work orders on the equipment within your care to ensure that all spares and equipment have been booked out correctly and that stock on hand is correct.

Key points we are looking for

  • Completed a trade background or demonstrated experience working with reliability teams;
  • Ideally you will have hands on experience with automated packing machines, robots and palletisers, specifically with Schubert and Scotts packaging systems;
  • Knowledge of MEX or other CMMS system which include stock levels and work order management;
  • Understanding manuals/drawing and plans to determine for spare part requirements;
  • Team player, understand that results are measured in a team environment;
  • Can do attitude, nothing is to hard or too much of a hassle, doing the job right first time; and
  • Ability to support a 24x7, 365 days per year production environment.
