Mercy Services are looking for a truly outstanding Coordinator/Counsellor to lead the McAuley Outreach Service Team, to be based from Tighes Hill.  Reporting to the Manager - AOD and Family Services, the role is very hands on supporting parents (with young children) who have drug and/or alcohol problems; in a home based-environment.  The Coordinator/Counsellor is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the program whilst also actively participating as a valued AOD Counsellor.

To be successful in this position you must possess:

•             Relevant tertiary qualifications in AOD, community services, social work, psychology, social science or similar and significant experience supporting people in the AOD field

•             Proven hands-on leadership experience in supervising a small team environment

•             Verifiable working knowledge of AOD, the associated issues and the sector

•             A current and unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence

•             Professionalism and alignment with the values and ethos of Mercy Services

•             Effective verbal and written communication skills

•             Superior computer literacy with strong administration skills, including being very proficient in the use of electronic technology including smart phones, email, internet and linking calendars etc.

•             Previous experience and expertise in data collection, collation, analysis and reporting

•             Ability to work independently with a strong desire to achieve business goals

•             High level punctuality, organisation skills and personal integrity

As part of Mercy Services employment screening process, you will be required to undertake extensive screening and background checking prior to appointment.  This will include a National Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check. Applicants must also demonstrate the right to work in Australia.

Employment Classification Part Time – 45 hours per fortnight; Grade 5- Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010

This is a Part Time role worked over 3 days per week.
